Bill LeRoy returns to the Griffins for his 16th season as the team’s video coach. He is responsible for tracking on-ice systems and data during games for the two-time Calder Cup champions.
Prior to joining the organization in 2001, LeRoy worked 18 seasons as video coach for the IHL’s Kalamazoo Wings, where he compiled statistics for future NHL coaches Ken Hitchcock, Claude Noel and Jim Playfair. He had the opportunity to work with another NHL coach in-the-making, the Red Wings’ Jeff Blashill, from 2012-15 on the Griffins’ coaching staff.
LeRoy resides in Kalamazoo with his daughter, Becca, a student at Baker College in Muskegon. His son, Tyler, was a long-time Griffins locker room attendant and now studies at Lake Superior State University.
