Forward Noah Dower Nilsson signed a PTO with the Griffins on May 4, following the conclusion of his Swedish Hockey League season, but did not appear in any games with Grand Rapids. In addition, Dower Nilsson, the 73rd overall pick by Detroit in 2023, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings on April 4, which will begin in the 2026-27 season. 

The 21-year-old competed in his second SHL season in 2025-26 with Frolunda HC and accumulated 16 points (6-10—16), 10 penalty minutes and a plus-seven rating in 48 regular-season games. He then added four points (2-2—4) and two penalty minutes in six playoff appearances. Dower Nilsson also won the 2026 Champions Hockey League with Frolunda, showing two assists in 12 outings.
