THE "GRIFFINS PROMISE"

May 11, 2009

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Griffins season ticket holders who are concerned about their employment status in a challenging economic climate can enjoy their hockey worry-free next season, thanks to the introduction of the “Griffins Promise.”

This new program extends automatically and free of charge to all purchasers of a Griffins 2009-10 full-season ticket package. It provides the named account holder money-back coverage through the end of the 2009-10 regular season in the event of involuntary unemployment, physical disability, employment transfer outside of the 13-county West Michigan region, or self-employed personal bankruptcy.

Upon request of the account holder and verification of circumstances, the Griffins Promise will provide a refund of the remaining value of the ticket package, based on the number of games left once the tickets are returned to the Griffins. Fans would then have no further financial obligation to the team.

“With a lot of job uncertainty in Michigan right now, we’re glad we can provide a little peace of mind for our most loyal fans,” said Tim Gortsema, the Griffins’ senior vice president of business operations.
