GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday recalled goaltender Harri Sateri from the Grand Rapids Griffins and reassigned goaltender Kaden Fulcher from the Griffins to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.

The 29-year-old Sateri has posted an 18-9-3 record, a 2.79 goals against average and a 0.902 save percentage in 30 games with the Griffins this season. He has picked up points in eight of his last 10 starts (7-2-1) and shows a 1.88 GAA and a 0.933 save percentage in that span. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound netminder’s 18 wins, which tie for seventh in the league, also equal his AHL career high from 2013-14.

Should he make his Red Wings debut, Sateri will become the 176th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL. Detroit hosts the San Jose Sharks today at 3 p.m.

Originally drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall, by San Jose in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sateri made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers last season. In nine appearances, he notched a 4-4-0 record to go along with a 2.92 GAA and a 0.911 save percentage.

A native of Toijala, Finland, Sateri has played in 188 career AHL games since 2010 between Worcester (2010-14), Springfield (2017-18) and Grand Rapids, and has totaled an 80-86-6 record, a 2.78 GAA, a 0.906 save percentage and eight shutouts. He also spent three seasons (2014-17) with Vityaz Podolsk in the Kontinental Hockey League, tallying a 52-60-16 record, 2.63 GAA, a 0.923 save percentage and nine shutouts in 132 contests.

Fulcher served as a backup to Patrik Rybar on Friday against Texas and Saturday at Chicago.

In his rookie campaign, the 20-year-old Fulcher has appeared in 23 games with the Walleye and posted a 14-5-4 record, a 3.19 GAA and a 0.892 save percentage.

Prior to turning pro, Fulcher totaled a 57-44-13 record, a 3.19 GAA, a 0.893 save percentage and five shutouts in 115 career Ontario Hockey League games from 2015-18 between Sarnia (2015-16) and Hamilton (2015-18). During the 2017-18 season, the 6-foot-3, 182-pound netminder placed seventh in the league with a career-high 2.86 GAA while showing a 32-17-6 record and a 0.899 save percentage. Fulcher backstopped the Bulldogs to the J. Ross Robertson Cup after compiling a 16-5 record, a 2.70 GAA and a 0.905 save percentage in 21 postseason appearances. He was named the Happ Emms Memorial Trophy winner as the CHL Memorial Cup Most Outstanding Goaltender in 2018.

The Central Division-leading Griffins are back in action on Friday at the Rockford IceHogs at 8 p.m. EST.
