GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday recalled center Christoffer Ehn from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Ehn, 22, has split his first season in North America between Grand Rapids and Detroit. In 13 appearances with the Griffins, the 6-foot-2, 193-pound center has recorded six points (1-5—6), a plus-five rating and six penalty minutes.

Detroit’s third choice, 106th overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Ehn shows seven points (2-5—7) and four PIM while averaging 9:48 of ice time in 44 contests with Detroit. He became the 173rd Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL when he returned to the Red Wings' lineup on Nov. 6 vs. Vancouver.

A native of Skara, Sweden, Ehn skated in 147 games with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League from 2013-18 and recorded 32 points (11-21—32). He produced career highs in goals (7), assists (10) and points (17) in 2017-18. Ehn helped Frolunda win back-to-back Champions League Tournament crowns in 2017 and 2016 and an SHL title in 2016.

The Griffins return home to host the Texas Stars on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
