RED WINGS ASSIGN RENOUF
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Thursday assigned defenseman Dan Renouf to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Renouf, 22, made his professional debut with the Griffins last season, appearing in six games and recording one assist after playing three seasons at the University of Maine. Entering his first full pro season, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound rookie has yet to play in 2016-17.
Off to a 3-0 start for the fifth time in franchise history, the Griffins return home to Van Andel Arena for a pair of games this weekend. Grand Rapids will host Rockford tomorrow night at 7 p.m. before entertaining the defending Calder Cup champion Cleveland Monsters on Saturday.
