GRIFFINSHOCKEY.COM RELAUNCHES FOR 2010-11 SEASON
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday officially unveiled a revamped web site that features a cleaner and sharper design with improved content, expanded team coverage, easier navigation and better organization.
The new griffinshockey.com emphasizes the team’s affiliation with the Detroit Red Wings, as wide-screen users will see images of Justin Abdelkader, Jonathan Ericsson, Darren Helm, Jimmy Howard, Doug Janik and Mattias Ritola in both Griffins and Red Wings uniforms rotate through the margins as they navigate the site. Meanwhile, the site’s header features a jersey-themed design that recognizes the franchise’s 15th season.
The new home page provides expanded coverage of the Griffins through an embedded GriffVision video player, a multimedia/social media hub that includes a link to the team’s new blog, and a featured-article area. Throughout the 2010-11 season, these elements will be frequently updated with player interviews, off-the-ice features and in-depth articles about the team, giving fans an enhanced look at their favorite Griffins players and Red Wings prospects.
In addition, the home page offers fans quick and easy access to ticket deals, promotions and scheduling information, including a one-stop shop for tickets in the Buy Tickets Now area. Fans can also view live status updates from the Griffins’ Facebook and Twitter pages, making it easier to “like” or “follow” the team and be granted access to deals found only on these social media sites.
Griffinshockey.com continues to offer extensive photo galleries through Flickr, free subscriptions to the Griff Info news/information service, an in-depth roster page with detailed bios of each player, numerous easy-to-navigate links for finding promotions, and the most recent news and coverage of the team. The site also remains the preferred portal for Griffins fans to order tickets, access live audio and video webcasts, shop for team merchandise, and view live scores from around the AHL.
Griffinshockey.com is optimally viewed with either Internet Explorer (8.0 or 7.0) or Firefox. The site was designed by Infinity Pro Sports (IPS), whose mission is to provide technologically advanced web based software and services to professional sports teams and organizations.
