
2024-25 Player in Review: Carter Gylander
Goaltender Carter Gylander competed in his rookie season in 2024-25, appearing in three games with Grand Rapids and 34 regular-season outings with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. With the Griffins, Gylander logged a 2-1-0 record with a 3.49 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. Gylander became the eighth rookie goaltender in franchise history to win his debut, doing so on Oct. 27 at Lehigh Valley behind 33 saves and three stops in the skills competition in a 4-3 shootout victory.
With Toledo during the regular season, the 24-year-old went 20-9-5 with two shutouts in 34 games to go along with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. Gylander aided the Walleye to the Kelly Cup Finals in his first professional postseason, making his Kelly Cup Playoff debut on April 18 against Indy. During the postseason, Gylander logged a 6-2 ledger with a 2.88 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage.
