<i>"WHO WOULDN'T WANT MY JERSEY?"</i>

Nov 16, 2007

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Twenty-three autographed, game-issued Detroit Red Wings jerseys are being made available for public bidding through exclusive auctions that begin at griffinshockey.com and conclude after select Grand Rapids Griffins home games throughout the 2007-08 season.

Online bidding, which begins at $250 per jersey, will establish the starting bids for silent auctions that will take place on the arena concourse during Griffins games. Subsequently, the highest bids from the silent auctions will serve as the starting bids for live post-game auctions.

The online portion of each auction will run for approximately one month, concluding at 3 p.m. on the specified game day. If the highest online bid is not surpassed during that night’s silent or live auctions, the top bidder will be contacted by the Griffins regarding payment and delivery.

The auction schedule is as follows (players and dates subject to change):

Nov. 2 online/Nov. 23 silent and live - Johan Franzen, Jimmy Howard, Mikael Samuelsson

Nov. 16 online/Dec. 14 silent and live - Pavel Datsyuk, Valtteri Filppula

Dec. 21 online/Jan. 18 silent and live - Tomas Kopecky, Kirk Maltby, Derek Meech

Dec. 29 online/Jan. 26 silent and live - Dallas Drake, Dominik Hasek, Tomas Holmstrom, Niklas Kronwall, Nicklas Lidstrom, Andreas Lilja

Jan. 18 online/Feb. 15 silent and live - Chris Chelios, Dan Cleary

Jan. 25 online/Feb. 22 silent and live - Kris Draper, Jiri Hudler

Feb. 29 online/March 28 silent and live - Brett Lebda, Chris Osgood, Kyle Quincey

Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Griffins Youth Foundation and the hundreds of underserved, underprivileged and at-risk children who participate in its programs. Established in 1995, the foundation promotes academic excellence, community involvement and healthy lifestyles among the youth of West Michigan, enhancing their lives through hockey and ice-related sports.
