GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday assigned right wing Jan Mursak to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Mursak, 23, shows one goal and an average ice time of 8:13 through 17 games over two separate stints with the Red Wings this season (Dec. 27-Jan. 26 and Feb. 2-15). He currently places among Grand Rapids’ leaders with 11 goals (5th), 24 points (6th) and a plus-eight rating (T2nd) in 35 appearances.
During his last contest with the Wings on Feb. 5 in Nashville, Mursak sustained an injury to the big toe on his left foot and was subsequently placed on the club’s injured reserve list.
Prior to being reassigned, the Maribor, Slovenia, native participated in a full practice with the Griffins on Tuesday morning and was deemed healthy to return to action when the Griffins host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
