TRAINING STAFF SCORES "BRAD" TRICK
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday announced the hiring of Brad Shaw (photo left) as medical therapist and Brad Sniatecki as assistant equipment manager. They and longtime equipment manager Brad Thompson will comprise the team's training staff for the 2010-11 season.
Shaw spent the last three seasons as the head athletic therapist and equipment manager for the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
After earning an exercise and sports science degree from the University of Manitoba in 2004 and becoming a certified athletic therapist in 2005, Shaw served as an assistant athletic therapist for the AHL’s Manitoba Moose during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. While with the Moose, he spent his summers as the head athletic therapist for the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team.
Sniatecki returns to the Griffins after having served as a locker room attendant from 1999-09. While spending a season away from the rink last year, the Walker, Mich., native earned a biomedical science degree from Grand Valley State University.
