RED WINGS CALL ON CONNER
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday recalled right wing Chris Conner from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
A native of Livonia, Mich., Conner leads the Griffins in scoring with 23 points (7-16—23) in 20 games. The 27-year-old winger has recorded a team-high seven multipoint games this season, including four three-point games. He currently ranks sixth in overall AHL scoring.
Conner has appeared in 139 NHL games, totaling 40 points (16-24—40). He spent the majority of the 2010-11 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, tallying 16 points (7-9—16) in 60 regular season contests and adding one goal in seven postseason games.
The Griffins will be back in action on Friday when they welcome the Toronto Marlies at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
