GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Friday announced that defenseman Kyle Quincey has been assigned by the Detroit Red Wings, defenseman Jason Jozsa has signed a standard player’s contract, and goaltender Dan Turple has been reassigned to ECHL Gwinnett by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Quincey, 22, was recalled by the Wings on Feb. 15 and logged five shots and four penalty minutes in six games with the parent club. The Kitchener, Ontario, native, who shows 10 points (2-8—10) in 45 games with Grand Rapids, will return to the lineup tonight when the Griffins visit the Peoria Rivermen at 8 p.m. EST.

Jozsa, 26, has appeared in four Griffins contests since signing a pro tryout on Feb. 21. He is taking a two-game assist streak into tonight’s contest, the first of which marked his first AHL point.

Prior to arriving in Grand Rapids, the Calgary, Alberta, native played 49 games with ECHL Las Vegas, where he led Wranglers defensemen and placed among the league’s top blueliners with 30 points (T9th) and 28 assists (5th) at the time of his departure.

Turple, 23, made his AHL debut with the Griffins last Sunday during the team’s 6-1 loss at Quad City. Entering in relief of Adam Berkhoel at the start of the third period, he stopped six of the seven shots he faced.
