PICHE RETURNS, LANDRY RELEASED
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday announced two transactions, as defenseman Sebastien Piche was reassigned to the club from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye by the Detroit Red Wings and defenseman Jon Landry was released.
Piche, 22, has skated in 25 games for the Walleye this season, ranking second among team blueliners with 15 points (4-11—15). He has one assist in 10 games for the Griffins.
Landry, 26, made his Griffins debut during Grand Rapids’ 6-2 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday, after logging six AHL contests with Bridgeport earlier this season. He returns to ECHL Kalamazoo, where he ranks third among the Wings’ defensemen with 17 points (3-14—17) in 31 contests.
The Griffins will kick off a three-game road trip on Wednesday by visiting the Chicago Wolves at 8 p.m. EST.
