GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Goaltender Jordan Pearce and forward Mike Thomas were assigned to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye on Thursday by the Detroit Red Wings and Grand Rapids Griffins, respectively.

Pearce, 25, has not played for the Griffins since injuring his ankle on Dec. 30 versus Peoria. He shows a 1-6-1 record this season with a 3.42 goals against average and a 0.877 save percentage. The Anchorage, Alaska, native recorded a shutout on Nov. 11 at Hamilton when he steered aside 29 shots in an 8-0 Griffins victory.

A native of New Maryland, New Brunswick, Thomas was acquired from the Springfield Falcons on Jan. 19 in exchange for defenseman Greg Amadio. The 20-year-old left wing tallied one goal, three assists and 21 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Falcons this season, before adding five penalty minutes in two games with the Griffins.

Sitting just two points out of second place in the North Division, Grand Rapids is preparing to open a season-high five-game homestand with a pair of games against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
