MILWAUKEE -- Carter Bear scored his first professional goal in his second game, but the Grand Rapids Griffins suffered a 4-1 setback to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday at Panther Arena.
 

The Admirals were the aggressors in the first period, outshooting the Griffins 13-5. Grand Rapids had two power-play opportunities in the frame but were unable to capitalize.

Milwaukee opened the scoring 5:06 into the game when Cole O’Hara ripped a wrist shot from just inside the right circle past Trey Augustine’s blocker.

The Admirals extended their advantage nearly four minutes into the second stanza when Tyson Jost sent a cross-ice pass to Aiden Fink who scored a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle at the 3:44 mark.

After both teams committed penalties resulting in 4-on-4 play, Milwaukee’s Chase Bradley scored a breakaway goal with 14:36 remaining in the second period to give the Admirals a 3-0 cushion.

With less than five minutes remaining in the third period, Shai Buium dumped the puck into the zone before Bear fired a shot from the top of the left circle past the glove of Isak Posch to cut the deficit to two at the 15:41 mark.

Grand Rapids pulled Augustine with 2:35 left, but Milwaukee’s Kyle Marino took possession of the puck off a defensive faceoff and scored on the empty net at 17:30 to hand the Griffins a 4-1 defeat.

Notes

• Bear was selected with the 13th overall pick by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
• The Griffins’ penalty kill finished 2-for-2 and improved to 14-for-15 on the season.
