GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday recalled right wing Gustav Nyquist from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of Halmstad, Sweden, Nyquist leads the AHL with 60 points (23-37—60) in 58 contests. The second-year pro has skated in 122 career games with the Griffins, showing 122 points (46-76—122). Nyquist leads the team in goals, assists, power play points (25) and shots (169), and he ties for the team lead with three shootout goals. In 22 career NHL contests with Detroit, the 23-year-old forward has eight points (1-7—8).

After wrapping up a three-game road trip in Peoria on Tuesday, the Griffins will return to Van Andel Arena to host Lake Erie on Friday at 7 p.m., before completing a home-and-home set against the Monsters on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. to begin a season-high seven-game road trip.
