NICASTRO TO TOLEDO
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday reassigned defenseman Max Nicastro from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
Nicastro, 22, has appeared in five games with the Griffins in his first professional season, recording one goal and a plus-two rating. He notched his first professional point with a goal on Nov. 16 at Lake Erie in a 6-5 overtime victory for Grand Rapids. The Thousand Oaks, California, native spent the previous three seasons with Boston University, logging 33 points (11-22—33) in 102 contests.
The first-place Griffins will continue their four-game homestand this weekend when they host the Texas Stars on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
