NESTRASIL RECALLED FROM TOLEDO
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Monday reassigned right wing Andrej Nestrasil (NEHS-tra-shihl) to the Grand Rapids Griffins from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Nestrasil was selected in the third round (75th overall) by the Red Wings in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The first-year pro has suited up in 11 games for the Griffins this season, totaling two goals, one assist, two penalty minutes and 17 shots. The 21-year-old forward has 29 points (7-22—29) and 20 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Walleye this season.
Nestrasil will join the Griffins as they kick off a four-game southwestern road trip with a pair of games against San Antonio on Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT.
