NESTRASIL JOINS GRIFFINS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday reassigned forward Andrej Nestrasil (ahn-DRAY NEHS-tra-shihl) to the Grand Rapids Griffins from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
Nestrasil, 20, spent the 2010-11 season with Prince Edward Island of the QMJHL, producing 70 points (19-51—70) in 58 games. Detroit’s third choice (75th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, he was originally reassigned to Toledo from Grand Rapids on Oct. 5, and he recorded two shots in the Walleye’s lone game this season.
Nestrasil will join the Griffins as they continue a season-high five-game road trip this weekend with their first three-in-three of the season. Grand Rapids will battle Oklahoma City on Friday and Saturday, both at 8 p.m. EDT, before it closes the trip with a Sunday contest in Houston at 6:05 p.m EDT.
