MRAZEK REJOINS GRIFFINS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday reassigned goaltender Petr Mrazek from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
A native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Mrazek was reassigned to Toledo by Detroit yesterday and made 19 saves in the Walleye’s preseason contest against the Kalamazoo Wings. The 20-year-old goaltender is in his first professional season after spending three years with the OHL’s Ottawa 67s.
After dropping the first of two contests against Lake Erie with a 3-1 loss last night at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, the Griffins will wrap up the preseason tonight with a rematch against the Monsters at 7 p.m. at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich. The puck drops on the 2012-13 season on Friday when the Griffins host the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
