MINARD ASSIGNED TO GRAND RAPIDS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday assigned left wing Chris Minard to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Minard has not played this season while recovering from a concussion. He skated in 79 games for the Griffins last season, recording 35 points (18-17—35). The Owen Sound, Ontario, native has tallied 138 goals and 102 assists in 332 career AHL games. He’s also skated in 40 NHL games with Pittsburgh and Edmonton, notching two goals and four assists.
Minard is expected to make his season debut as the Griffins make their first-ever visit to Charlotte. They’ll take on the Checkers at 3 p.m. tomorrow and 7 p.m. on Tuesday before returning home for back-to-back home games versus North Division rivals Lake Erie on Friday and Rochester on Saturday.
