LASHOFF RETURNS TO DETROIT
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday recalled defenseman Brian Lashoff from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Lashoff, 22, has split the season between the AHL and NHL, recording six points (2-4—6) and 23 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Griffins and five points (1-4—5) and 15 penalty minutes in 30 games with the Red Wings. The Albany, N.Y., native has appeared in 162 games with the Griffins since 2008, registering 35 points (11-24—35) and 91 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 218-pound defenseman was plus-two in a 5-1 win over Houston on Tuesday in his first game with the Griffins since Jan. 19.
The Griffins will wrap up a season-high seven-game road trip this weekend, taking on the Abbotsford Heat on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. EDT. The team will return to Grand Rapids to open up a four-game homestand next Wednesday versus Chicago. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
