KRONWALL, SWEDEN PLACE FOURTH
VIENNA, Austria - With a 6-3 loss to Russia in Sunday's bronze medal game, Niklas Kronwall and Sweden finished in fourth place at the 2005 IIHF World Championship.
Kronwall, the AHL's 2004-05 outstanding defenseman with the Griffins, scored three goals and three assists in nine tournament games. He was named by the media to the tournament's all-star team, joining goaltender Tomas Vokoun, defenseman Marek Zidlicky and forward Jaromir Jagr of the Czech Republic, and forwards Joe Thornton and Rick Nash of Canada.
