CLEVELAND - The Colorado Avalanche on Friday announced that veteran netminder Jose Theodore is scheduled to make a rehabilitation start for Lake Erie on Saturday. The Monsters will host the Griffins at 7:30 p.m. at the Quicken Loans Arena in the season opener for both teams.

The Griffins are undefeated the last two times they faced an NHL goalie during a rehab assignment:

Jan. 28, 2006 - Griffins 4 at Peoria 2 - Patrick Lalime (St. Louis) 27 saves
Jan. 9, 2004 - Utah 2 at Griffins 2 - Ron Tugnutt (Dallas) 24 saves

The game will be televised live on FSN Ohio.
