GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins are mourning the death of former forward John Vigilante, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 33.

A native of Dearborn, Mich., Vigilante spent the 2009-10 season in Grand Rapids, contributing 25 points (11-14—25) in 79 games. He made his greatest impact off the ice, earning the Griffins’ nomination for the AHL’s Man of the Year Award for his tremendous work in our community.

The Griffins organization is deeply saddened by John’s loss, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
