JANIK RETURNED TO GRIFFINS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – One day after recalling the defenseman from Grand Rapids, the Detroit Red Wings on Friday reassigned Doug Janik to the Griffins.
Janik, 30, had a seven-game stint with the Red Wings from Oct. 12-30, when he went scoreless with seven penalty minutes, eight shots, a minus-two rating and an average ice time of 13:13.
The 10-year veteran and alternate captain of the Griffins, Janik shows 17 points (4-13—17), 55 PIM and ranks sixth on the team with a plus-6 rating through 46 games with Grand Rapids
The Griffins kick off a three-in-three southern road swing tonight by visiting the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:05 EST.
