HUDLER RETURNS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday assigned left wing Jiri Hudler to the Grand Rapids Griffins. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Griffins visit Ricoh Coliseum for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the Toronto Marlies.
Hudler, 21, leads the Griffins and stands near the top of the American Hockey League rankings with 16 goals (T3rd), 20 assists (T5th) and 36 points (T2nd). Hes played in Detroits last four games in his first NHL action since early in the 2003-04 season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes and three shots while averaging 7:13 in ice time.
