HOME OPENER SET FOR OCT. 20
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday announced that they will open the home portion of their 2007-08 schedule on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Van Andel Arena.
The latest date for a home opener in the franchise’s 12-year history – their 2003-04 home schedule began Oct. 18 – highlights six Griffins home games that have been confirmed by the American Hockey League. Grand Rapids will host its 11th annual New Year’s Eve bash on Monday, Dec. 31, along with Saturday games on Nov. 10, Dec. 15, Jan. 12 and Jan. 26. Start times and opponents will be announced later this summer, when the full 80-game slate for the AHL’s 72nd season is released.
Group tickets for these six games are now on sale along with 2007-08 full-season ticket packages, which feature substantially lower prices and an array of new benefits. Fans who purchase a full-season ticket will save an average of 33 percent off the single-game ticket price and an average of more than $160 off the cost of last year’s full-season packages. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the public in September.
