HOCKEY IN JULY
DETROIT - Detroit Red Wings Assistant General Manager Jim Nill announced that the Red Wings will conduct a summer strength and conditioning camp at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
The camp runs from Saturday, July 1 through and including Thursday, July 6. A collection of Detroits top prospects acquired during the past few years will participate. Six of the clubs draftees from the 2006 NHL Entry Draft will be among the crop of 21 players at the camp.
The camp will be divided into on-ice sessions as well as off-ice conditioning. On-ice workouts will take place every day from 8:30-10:00 a.m. beginning on July 2, and will conclude on July 6 with a skills competition.
