HARTIGAN ROUNDS OUT GRIFFINS' ROSTER

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.
– With Tuesday’s arrival of veteran left wing Mark Hartigan on assignment from the Detroit Red Wings, the Grand Rapids Griffins finalized their roster for the 2007-08 American Hockey League season.

The current 23-man roster includes two goaltenders (Adam Berkhoel and Jimmy Howard), seven defensemen (Jonathan Ericsson, Brad Ference, Tom Galvin, Jon Insana, Jakub Kindl, Cleve Kinley and Garrett Stafford) and 14 forwards (Neil Clark, Carl Corazzini, Mark Cullen, Brett Engelhardt, Randall Gelech, Igor Grigorenko, Mark Hartigan, Adam Keefe, Evan McGrath, Ryan Oulahen, Mattias Ritola, Johan Ryno, Jamie Tardif and Mike Walsh). More than half of the roster is comprised of first-time Griffins, with just 11 players showing previous Grand Rapids experience on their resumes.

Grand Rapids is just four days away from Saturday’s season opener in Cleveland versus the Lake Erie Monsters. After opening the regular season with three straight road games, the Griffins will make their Van Andel Arena debut on Saturday, Oct. 20 against the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m.
