GRIFFINS SIGN LEPINE
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday signed defenseman Jason Lepine to a professional tryout.
Lepine, 25, has logged 41 ECHL contests between Bakersfield and Toledo this season, notching 12 points (2-10—12) in 21 games for the Condors before earning 16 points (4-12—16) in 20 appearances with the Walleye. The native of Cornwall, Ontario, leads all ECHL defenseman with 22 assists and ranks second with 28 points.
In six career AHL contests between Rockford (one game in 2008-09), Peoria (three in 2009-10) and Albany (two in 2009-10), Lepine has tallied three assists.
Lepine will be available to make his Griffins debut on Wednesday when Grand Rapids kicks off a three-game road trip by visiting the Chicago Wolves at 8 p.m. EST.
