GRIFFINS SIGN BRYAN LUNDBOHM

Nov 18, 2004
Grand Rapids, Mich. The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Thursday signed center Bryan Lundbohm to a professional tryout.

The 27-year-old spent three years with the AHLs Milwaukee Admirals before joining the Central Hockey Leagues Fort Worth Brahmas this season. He currently leads the Brahmas with 12 assists while placing third on the team with five goals and 17 points.

In 2003-04, Lundbohm skated in 28 games for the eventual Calder Cup champion Milwaukee Admirals before his campaign was shortened by a torn pectoral muscle suffered in January. The previous season, he was the only Admiral to play in all 80 regular season games and all six playoff games. He led Milwaukee with five assists and tied for second with six points in the postseason.

During three seasons with the University of North Dakota, Lundbohm twice helped lead the Fighting Sioux to the best regular season record in the WCHA and won the 2000 National Championship. In 1999-00, he ranked tenth in the WCHA with 44 points and second on the Fighting Sioux with 22 goals. The following season he led the WCHA with 32 goals and placed second on the circuit with 69 points, while his 37 assists placed third on his club.

Lundbohm will be available to the Griffins tonight when they complete their record nine-game homestand against the Chicago Wolves. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
