GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday announced the return of the “Griffins Give Back” program for a third consecutive season. The program will provide free tickets to the Griffins’ home game on Sunday, Nov. 27 to hundreds of local unemployed workers plus their families through Michigan Works!

Over 1,000 lower bowl tickets will be distributed through two Grand Rapids offices of Michigan Works! beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 8 a.m. and continuing while supplies last. Those who visit Michigan Works! in person and present both proof of unemployment and a valid Michigan photo I.D. can receive up to four free tickets to the Griffins game on Nov. 27 at 5 p.m. versus the Oklahoma City Barons.

Michigan Works! locations and hours are as follows:
• 1560 Leonard NE – Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-1 p.m.;
• 121 Franklin SE – Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (no Saturday hours).

All fans in attendance on Nov. 27 will be able to enjoy special “Sunday is Fun Day!” pricing promotions at arena concession stands, as Pepsi products and Cole’s Breadsticks will each cost just $1 from 4-6 p.m. Fans will also enjoy “Mascot Mania,” the annual gathering of local mascots who will be roaming the concourse and interacting with fans during the game, and the first 1,500 kids 12 and under will receive a “Be Your Own BobbleHead” t-shirt as they enter the arena. Fans can also stick around for a J & H Family Stores Post-Game Skate.

The “Griffins Give Back” program debuted in 2009-10 and has provided a total of 9,394 tickets for unemployed workers and their families for three games over the past two seasons.
