GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Friday announced the promotion of Kevin Huisman to director of ticket operations and the hiring of Chad Erwin as group services and box office manager.

This marks Huisman’s second promotion with the team, as he started his career with the Griffins in 2007-08 as the database/group services manager before taking on the role of ticket operations manager last season. Before joining the Griffins, he spent three years working in minor league baseball, most recently as the group hospitality and client services manager for the Inland Empire 66ers in San Bernardino, Calif. A native of Grandville, Mich., Huisman graduated from Calvin College in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in general business.

Erwin begins his new role with the Griffins after having served as a ticket operations intern for the past two seasons. Now responsible for managing group ticket operations and overseeing the box office, the Lapeer, Mich., native is a 2009 graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he received a degree in hospitality and tourism management.
