GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Monday announced the promotions of Sean Wright to vice president of corporate sales and Kevin Huisman to ticket operations manager, and the hirings of Nate Meganck as database/group services manager and Pete Austgen as a group sales account executive.

Wright has been a member of the DP Fox Sports & Entertainment staff since 2001, most recently serving as the senior director of arena advertising and assisting both the Griffins and Grand Rapids Rampage in game night operations. In his new role, he will oversee all facets of the Griffins’ corporate sales efforts, including the servicing of existing sponsorship accounts and the prospecting and acquisition of new corporate partners. Prior to joining DP Fox, the Oakland, Calif., native worked for two years as a radio sales representative for Citadel Broadcasting.

Huisman looks forward to his second campaign with the Griffins after spending his first year as the database/group services manager. Before joining the Griffins, he spent three years working in minor league baseball, most recently as the group hospitality and client services manager for the Inland Empire 66ers in San Bernardino, Calif. A native of Grandville, Mich., Huisman graduated from Calvin College in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in general business.

Meganck has been with the Griffins for two seasons as a ticket sales and services intern, working in all facets of the department. Originally from Grosse Pointe, Mich., he graduated from Aquinas College in December 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Austgen is coming off a season in which he served as a game-night intern for the Griffins’ public relations department. A Grand Rapids native, he is a 2007 graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he received a degree in advertising and public relations and held internships with the school’s athletic and media relations departments.
