GRIFFINS ANNOUNCE NEW HIRE
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday announced the hiring of Jason Pearson as public relations manager.
Pearson graduated with high honors from Michigan State University in 2014, earning a bachelor of arts in communication. The Grand Rapids native spent his senior year as a student assistant in MSU’s athletic communications office and served as the primary sport contact for men’s and women’s tennis; in addition to assisting with football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and hockey. He also volunteered his time with the Big Ten Conference, serving in a media relations capacity for the 2013 Big Ten Championship game and the 2014 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Following graduation, Pearson accepted a communications internship at the University of Arkansas for the 2014-15 academic year, where he handled duties for the softball, women’s basketball and women’s tennis teams while also helping with football on game day. The 23-year-old most recently served as the assistant communications director at UNC Asheville prior to joining the Griffins.
