FREE TICKETS FOR UNEMPLOYED ON DEC. 27
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In the second major initiative of the “Griffins Give Back” program that debuted earlier this season, hundreds of local unemployed workers and their family members will receive free tickets to the Grand Rapids Griffins’ home game on Sunday, Dec. 27.
A minimum of 1,000 lower bowl tickets will be distributed through three Grand Rapids offices of Michigan Works (1560 Leonard NE, 121 Franklin St. Ste 120, and 622 Godfrey SW). Beginning today at noon and continuing while supplies last, those who visit Michigan Works in person and present both proof of unemployment and a valid Michigan photo I.D. can receive up to four free tickets to the Griffins game on Dec. 27 at 4 p.m. versus the Peoria Rivermen.
Thanks to the support of a generous Griffins sponsor, children 12 and younger who attend through the “Griffins Give Back” program will receive a free Lil’ Kinz stuffed plush toy as a holiday gift (while supplies last), when parents present their Michigan Works ticket inside the arena’s banquet room from 3-4 p.m.
All fans in attendance will be able to enjoy special “Super Sunday” pricing promotions at arena concession stands, as Pepsi products and Cole’s Breadsticks will each cost just $1 from 3-5 p.m. In addition, the first 1,000 children 12 and younger will receive a Griffins player card strip, courtesy of Play N Trade Alpine.
The “Griffins Give Back” program debuted for the team’s Oct. 25 game against Abbotsford, when more than 3,200 unemployed workers and their families received free tickets through Michigan Works and enjoyed the Griffins’ 6-1 win over the Heat.
