FOURNIER REASSIGNED TO TOLEDO
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday reassigned defenseman Gleason Fournier from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
Fournier, 21, has skated in 21 games with the Griffins this season, recording four points (1-3—4) and 23 penalty minutes. The second-year pro has also appeared in 10 games with the Walleye, showing eight penalty minutes. A native of Rimouski, Quebec, Fournier has eight points (2-6—8) and 37 penalty minutes in 34 career games with Grand Rapids and 18 points (2-16—18) and 40 penalty minutes in 65 games with Toledo.
The Griffins will look to extend their AHL-best four-game winning streak when they host the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday at 7 p.m., before playing 10 of their next 11 games (March 16-April 6) away from home. Tickets for Wednesday’s game are available at griffinshockey.com.
