GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday reassigned goaltender Tom McCollum, defenseman Gleason Fournier and forward Andrej Nestrasil from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. Additionally, the Griffins assigned defenseman Bryan Rufenach to Toledo and released forward Nick Oslund from his tryout.

McCollum, 21, split last season between Grand Rapids and Toledo, appearing in 20 games with the Griffins and 23 with the Walleye. He posted a 6-12-2 record with a 3.33 GAA while in Grand Rapids, and an 11-9-2 record alongside a 2.76 GAA and three shutouts with Toledo.

Fournier and Nestrasil each spent the 2010-11 season in the QMJHL. Fournier, 20, registered 44 points (12-32—44) in 57 games for Rimouski, while Nestrasil, 20, notched 70 points (19-51—70) in 58 games for Prince Edward Island.

Rufenach, 22, was signed to a contract in September by Grand Rapids after wrapping up his collegiate career at Clarkson last season with 11 points (4-7—11) in 33 games. He then appeared in six games with Toledo on a tryout, contributing a goal and an assist in six games.

Oslund, 23, had been practicing with the Griffins while on a tryout contract after spending the past four seasons at St. Cloud State. He will join the Walleye after being released.

The Griffins’ roster now stands at 23 as the team prepares for its season opener this Saturday at Rockford at 8:05 p.m. EDT.
