DETROIT - On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings selected defenseman Jakub Kindl with their first round selection (19th overall) in the NHL Entry Draft.
Born in Sumperk, Czech Republic, Kindl (6-3, 199) played this past season for Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League, where he tallied three goals and 11 assists for 14 points and 92 PIM in 62 games.
