DETROIT RECALLS ANDERSSON
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Friday recalled center Joakim Andersson from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
A native of Munkedal, Sweden, Andersson ranks fifth on the Griffins with 35 points (16-19—35) in 54 games. The second-year Griffin has skated in four contests with Detroit this season after making his NHL debut on Dec. 27 versus St. Louis. Andersson, Detroit’s second choice (88th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, registered a plus-one rating and three shots during his time with the Red Wings.
Grand Rapids will continue its season-high five-game road trip when it visits Houston on Saturday at 8:35 p.m. EST and Sunday at 6:05 p.m. EDT.
