CONNER RETURNS TO GRAND RAPIDS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday assigned right wing Chris Conner to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
A native of Livonia, Mich., Conner has suited up for eight games with the Red Wings this season, recording one goal, two assists and a plus-two rating. He has logged 147 NHL games with Dallas, Pittsburgh in Detroit over the last six seasons, recording 43 points (17-26—43).
The 28-year-old right winger ranks fourth on Grand Rapids with 36 points (11-25—36) in 41 games. Conner has totaled 210 points (83-127—210) in 259 career AHL games with Iowa, Peoria, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Grand Rapids.
The Griffins are back in action tonight when they visit the Texas Stars at 8:30 p.m. EST, before playing back-to-back weekend road games against the Houston Aeros on Saturday at 8:35 p.m. EST and Sunday at 6:05 p.m. EDT.
