CONNER GETS THE CALL
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday recalled right wing Chris Conner from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Conner, 28, ranks third on the Griffins with 53 points (16-37—53) in 57 contests. A native of Livonia, Mich., Conner has also skated in eight games with the Red Wings this season, posting three points (1-2—3) and a plus-two rating. In 147 career NHL games with Dallas, Pittsburgh and Detroit, the 5-7, 180-pound forward has recorded 43 points (17-26—43) and 30 penalty minutes.
Entering the last week of the regular season, the Griffins currently sit six points out of a playoff spot. They will visit the Rochester Americans on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m., before hosting the Chicago Wolves on Friday at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the 2011-12 season.
