COMCAST LOCAL PRESENTS "GAME OF THE MONTH"
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Beginning their fourth season of partnership, the Grand Rapids Griffins and Comcast Local are again teaming up this season to televise at least five regular season games to American Hockey League fans across the state of Michigan.
The package currently includes one home game each month against some of the Griffins’ fiercest rivals, including the Chicago Wolves, Manitoba Moose and defending Calder Cup champion Hamilton Bulldogs. The schedule is as follows (subject to change):
Fri., Dec. 14 - Hamilton Bulldogs at GRIFFINS - 7 p.m.
Sat., Jan. 26 - Chicago Wolves at GRIFFINS - 7 p.m.
Sat., Feb. 23 - Manitoba Moose at GRIFFINS - 7 p.m.
Sat., March 29 - Rochester Americans at GRIFFINS - 7 p.m.
Fri., April 11 - Manitoba Moose at GRIFFINS - 7 p.m.
Telecasts of several regular season road contests, as well as Calder Cup Playoff games, are also a possibility. The Voice of the Griffins, Bob Kaser, will provide the play-by-play for each game.
Comcast Local is a 24-hour regional sports network that provides exclusive sports programming to 1.6 million cable subscribers in Michigan and Indiana. Launched in the fall of 2004, the network delivers a comprehensive mix of sports programming including news, analysis, entertainment, and over 275 live sporting events. The channel is fully owned and operated by the nation’s largest provider of cable TV, Comcast Corporation, which is serving as the Griffins’ presenting sponsor for the third consecutive season.
