ANDERSSON RETURNS TO GRIFFINS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday assigned center Joakim Andersson to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Andersson, 23, logged 6:17 in the Red Wings’ 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings last night. In five career NHL games, the Munkedal, Sweden, native has a plus-one rating and three shots. Andersson also ranks fifth on the Griffins in scoring with 35 points (16-19—35) in 54 contests. He ranks among team leaders in goals (3rd), plus-minus (T5th), power play goals (3rd) and shooting percentage (3rd).
Grand Rapids will continue its season-high five-game road trip this weekend when it visits Houston tonight at 8:35 p.m. EST and Sunday at 6:05 p.m. EDT.
