ADAM KEEFE RETURNS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday signed right wing Adam Keefe to a professional tryout.
Keefe, 26, played parts of two seasons (2006-08) with the Griffins, totaling four points (1-3—4) and 221 penalty minutes in 48 games. During the 2007-08 campaign, he finished second on the team with 124 PIM in just 32 contests.
In 30 games with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this season, Keefe has totaled six points (2-4—6) and a league-leading 129 PIM, bringing his two-season totals with the Walleye to 12 points (4-8—12) and 236 PIM in 54 appearances.
The Brampton, Ontario, native has played in 176 career AHL games with Grand Rapids, Manitoba (2005-07) and San Antonio (2007-09), registering 17 points (9-8—17) and 776 PIM. He’s expected to return to the Griffins’ lineup tonight when they host the North Division-leading Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
