GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday signed defenseman Jim Jackson to a professional tryout.
The 26-year-old Jackson, a native of Marquette, Mich., who played four seasons at Northern Michigan University, has tallied 29 points (11-18—29) in 54 games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators this season. A fourth-year pro, he’s averaged more than a half-point per game during his career, totaling 121 points (39-82—121) in 234 contests.
Jackson will be available to make his AHL debut tonight when the Griffins visit the Rochester Americans at 7:05 p.m.
