2025-26 Player in Review: Sebastian Cossa
Goaltender Sebastian Cossa skated in his third full season with the Griffins and participated in the AHL All-Star Classic for the second consecutive campaign. The 23-year-old went 26-8-4 in the regular season with five shutouts, a 2.33 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 39 appearances. Cossa showed career-high numbers in GAA, save percentage, wins and shutouts. He ranked among the AHL leaders in GAA (5th), save percentage (6th), wins (3rd), games played (T12th), minutes played (2,292:25, 12th) and shutouts (2nd). Cossa enjoyed a career-high 10-game win streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 27, showing a 1.51 GAA and a .939 save percentage, and a 14-game point streak from Nov. 25-Jan. 13 (12-0-2).
Cossa, along with teammate Michal Postava, were named the winners of the 2025-26 Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award, given to the goaltenders on the team that allows the fewest goals per game in the regular season (2.21). Cossa was also dubbed the AHL Goaltender of the Month for both November and December, becoming the first netminder in team history to win the award twice in the same season.
Throughout parts of four seasons with the Griffins, Cossa has produced a 70-33-18 regular-season mark to go along with eight shutouts, a 2.46 GAA, a .911 save percentage, 3,040 saves and 7,246 minutes played in 123 outings. In the Griffins’ all-time rankings, Cossa places fifth in games played, fifth in minutes played, 10th in GAA, fifth in wins, tied for sixth in shutouts and fifth in saves.
