2025-26 Player in Review: Michal Postava
Goaltender Michal Postava skated in his first season with the Griffins and showed a 17-6-0 record with four shutouts, a 1.71 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage in 25 regular-season games. The 24-year-old was named the starter for the Calder Cup Playoffs and went 4-4 with one shutout, a 2.09 GAA and a .912 save percentage in eight appearances. If he had enough minutes to qualify (39 short), Postava would have ranked first in the league during the regular season in GAA and save percentage, and tied for third in shutouts. In the franchise’s all-time single-season record book, Postava placed first in GAA (1.71), first in save percentage (.937) and tied for 10th in shutouts (4).
Postava, along with teammate Sebastian Cossa, were named the winners of the 2025-26 Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award, given to the goaltenders on the team that allows the fewest goals per game in the regular season (2.21). Postava was also dubbed the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week on April 19 when he produced a 2-0 ledger with one shutout, a 1.01 GAA and a .960 save percentage.
